Siobhan OH Fitness: The Best Decision I Ever Made

Scrolling through Instagram, you often see perfectly-posed selfies taken by some of Ireland’s leading FitFam members. But despite boasting six-packs and bodies-to-die-for, gym fanatics can still have doubts over their appearance and suffer from body issues and low self-esteem.

Former breast augmentation patient and personal trainer, Siobhan OH Fitness has revealed that despite accomplishing her fitness goals, she still felt self-conscious about her body. Having been flat-chested since her teenage years, Siobhan’s new lean physique and smaller breast size started to make her feel unfeminine.

“I was getting leaner and leaner but at the same time I didn’t feel very feminine. I just wanted to put on a bikini or sports bra and not have to stuff them with padding,” said Siobhan.

Siobhan O'Hagan: Pre-Surgery

Siobhan O’Hagan: Pre-Surgery

Two years ago, before she started her fitness journey and became a personal trainer, Siobhan visited the Avoca Clinic to discuss breast surgery.

“It was something I had always wanted. I’d always said I wanted to get my boobs done when I was younger.

First Consultation

“When I went to the Avoca Clinic the first time, I wasn’t really happy with my body but I was just thinking about doing it. But when I went in, I was convinced. I tried on the bra and everything and I was like ‘Oh my god I really want it’. But I think I wanted it, thinking it would fix something.

“I took the money that I was going to spend on that [breast augmentation], and ended up spending it on a personal training course. It just wasn’t the right time but everything happens for a reason,” added Siobhan.

Fast forward to July 2016 and Siobhan is one of the country’s top personal trainers and has worked to achieve a physique that would be the envy of many. But despite all of this, she still had hang ups about her breast size. Determined to do something about it, she revisited the idea of having a breast augmentation.

“It was so different when I was going in this time for my consultation. I was so happy with my body and it really wasn’t something I was doing to fix myself, it was just something I wanted. I didn’t see any negative reasons and I’m delighted with it”.

The surgeon increased Siobhan’s cup size from 34A to a 34C, which she says was a conscious decision.

“I did that on purpose, I didn’t want to go too big because I wanted to be able to wear a sports bra without looking too much in the gym. I’m now a 34C and it just looks perfect”.

Recovery Time

Her recovery time was also relatively quick and her procedure didn’t hamper her training schedule as much as you’d expect.

“I was back training legs, even though they said take it easy, but I was back training legs within a week, the upper body a little bit after four weeks and in six weeks I was back full-steam training”.

The Best Decision

The fitness personality also kept her followers updated about her recovery through a series of vlogs. Being so open about her breast augmentation means that Siobhan now receives hundreds of emails from Irish women who, she says, are looking for reassurance to go ahead with the surgery.

“I get so many emails from women, who’ve gone into the Avoca Clinic and they’re really excited about it. They never really have a proper question for me, but I love being able to tell them just do it, it’ll be the best decision you’ve ever made.

“I have braces at the moment and to be honest, I see that as the same as changing your boobs. I don’t think there’s a huge difference. You’re doing it purely for cosmetic reasons,” added Siobhan.

Finding Happiness

Boasting a full client list and an ever-growing waiting list, Siobhan’s managed to achieve both professional and personal happiness.

“I feel like I’m boasting if I go on about how happy I am, and how well everything worked out.

“I found a meaning to life, I think before that I was looking at my 9 to 5 job and I was thinking, ‘I cannot be sitting here for the next 40 years’.

“Once I stopped chasing money and just started chasing happiness, that’s when it all worked out”.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Siobhan is about to undertake her first Republic of Ireland Bodybuilding Federation (RIBBF) bikini competition in April, which will challenge her to cut her body fat percentage down as low as possible.

“Every meal for the next four months is accounted for, there’s no drinking, there’s no eating out, it’s the hardest I’ve ever trained. It’s a huge challenge and I just think it’s the right time now for me, hopefully”.

Maria Redmond: I Feel and Look More Myself

We often hear about women suffering from low-esteem because of their smaller breast size but women with larger breasts can also face the same confidence issues.

Maria Redmond recently underwent breast reduction surgery at The Avoca Clinic and has spoken about how her breasts “took over” and began to control every aspect of her life.

“I never developed breasts until I was about 17 and then they just went from nothing to massive really quickly. They took over, they took over the way I dressed and the way I carried myself. I work in a very male-dominated area so it’s something that I was always very conscious of”, said Maria.

Despite losing weight in her early twenties, Maria’s breast size never changed and her now smaller frame only accentuated her bigger bust.

“I lost weight when I was 24 and came down to my proper shape but my boobs didn’t change. They didn’t change at all. They say that if you lose weight, you’ll change breast size but mine only ever went down to a double D.

“My aunty had a breast reduction years and years ago, so large breasts and small frames are genetic in my family,” added Maria.

Covering Up

Over time, Maria’s bigger bust size started to make her feel self-conscious and she began to change the way she dressed.

Maria Redmond: Pre Breast Reduction

“I always wore very structured, loose fitting clothes, shirts and dresses. I never wore V-necks and I definitely couldn’t go out in skimpy clothes because I felt there’d be a preconception made about me. I was always covered up.

“Even wearing a suit or work-appropriate clothes, they’re usually a little bit tighter and it just didn’t make me feel very confident. I didn’t want to be perceived in a certain light”.

Besides battling body issues, Maria also started to develop lumbar pain from all the strain and pressure placed on her back. Tired of suffering from pain and having to change the way she dressed, Maria decided to explore breast reduction surgery at The Avoca Clinic.

Surgery

“A lot of my male friends would have said I was bitch-slapping god in the face by doing it, but I said I’d go for it now, while I can enjoy them.

Breast reduction patient pre surgery

Maria Redmond: Pre Breast Reduction

“I met with my surgeon and the team and they were so professional. You can tell they have had so many people like me in a similar position. They were able to empathise with me which was lovely, every avenue was covered with them”.

After the surgery, a metaphorical and physical weight had been lifted from Maria’s shoulders. Her bra size had now been reduced from a 34E to a more manageable 34C.

“I remember when I first got off the table, with my nurse Caroline, and they felt so much lighter. It was like someone had taken a backpack off your chest.

“I was so happy and so shocked at how great they looked and how well they fit me. Now I feel more myself and look more myself, they fit my frame”.

Scarring

When talking about the surgery’s potential downsides, Maria mentions that for her there weren’t any, but scarring can be an issue for some people.

“The scarring will fade over time, there’s a huge difference from the initial scarring compared to now.

“People always ask about the scarring and it’s bad, but it’s nothing compared to the new breasts you have. If I was told I was going to have permanent scarring, I’d take it over not having the surgery. I love my new boobs, I show all my girlfriends”.

New-Found Confidence

Maria adds that since the surgery, she’s finally started to feel comfortable in her own body and appreciate her womanly figure.

Breast reduction patient's picture

Maria Redmond: New Found Confidence

“People have told me I’ve lost weight, but I haven’t it’s just from the breasts. The surgery has made a huge difference to my appearance, the way I dress and the way I carry myself. Everyone who knows me has commented on it in a really positive way”.

“Before the surgery, I wouldn’t have been able to see my shape. My boobs would have been quite low and gone out to my sides, so after surgery was the first time I could see my hour glass figure. It’s made me feel more feminine”.

Improved Activity

Her smaller breasts have also helped Maria become more active, as there’s “no more bouncing around”. Her golf swing has also mproved and she’s looking forward to hitting the fairways this summer.

It’s been nearly four months since her surgery and Maria hopes that by sharing her story, she can encourage more women to make a change.

“I hope other people get it done as well, cause there’s an awful lot of women out there who are unhappy with their breasts. I absolutely love mine. Like if anyone asks, I tell them all about them”.

Jessica Kavanagh: I’m Delighted With My New Boobs

RIBBF Bikini Fitness Champion and personal trainer, Jessica Kavanagh has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years and has helped transform the bodies of thousands of women and men throughout her career.

However, in December 2015 Jessica completed her own body transformation and underwent breast augmentation surgery at The Avoca Clinic.

Despite having always been flat-chested and confident in her own body, Jessica says that she started feeling self-conscious about her chest when she started competing in bikini fitness competitions.

“I didn’t actually mind my breasts in my clothes, it was more when I was in a bikini on stage because it looked odd. I was building muscle everywhere else, and trying to get rounder. In my class, you’re building a big bum, big old glutes at the back and then there’s nothing at the front.

“Your breasts are completely gone because you have to get so lean. If girls had a lot of boob before, then the dieting process would still make them look awful, because you end up with empty sacks effectively”.

Inspiration for Surgery

Within the highly competitive world of bikini fitness, women often undergo breast surgery to give themselves a more rounder and feminine shape.

jessica kavanagh

Pre Surgery Photo Shoot

“You’re ok competing in Ireland, but when I went to compete internationally pretty much everybody there had them done. I think there was 37 of us that day, and maybe me and two other girls didn’t have their breasts done.

“In September 2015, I competed internationally and when I was on the flight home I said to my boyfriend I’m not standing on the international stage again without having my boobs done. It’s not happening.

“I knew then I’d have time between competitions, so I sold my car and literally went straight in and had it done. My beautiful car, I had a bright pink Smart car, but I have boobs now and that’s all that matters”.

My Implants

Because of Jessica’s petite frame and torso, her surgeon recommended ultra-high profile implants, which would suit her shape, as well as give her the volume and lift she wanted.

“The ultra-high profile are narrower at the base, they stick up a lot more and they’re very round. Whether competing or not I’ve got quite a small frame and I’m quite short, so I just wanted something that was a bit higher rather than wider”.

Post-Surgery

Post-surgery Jessica was surprised by how minimum her discomfort was. After increasing her cupsize from a 32A to a 32DD, Jessica described the feeling as being like “I’d trained my chest really hard”.

“I was conscious of my movements cause I didn’t want to pull the stitches or anything but it was fine. The first two days there was a bit more pain but nothing unbearable at all. The worst part was just having to sleep on your back.

“I’m absolutely delighted with them. I was so happy that I went for the ultra-high profile. I sometimes think maybe I should have gone a bit bigger, but I think that’s what happens when you get used to having them, but no I’m really really happy with them, I love them”.

Confidence

Currently Jessica is training for her first European championship since the surgery, and is looking forward to getting back on stage with added confidence.

Jessica_Kavanagh_Competingjpg

“I do feel a hell of a lot better on stage. I’m in training for the Europeans in 11 weeks, so that’ll be my first international with them which is where I had the biggest problem initially. I’m looking forward to that and I feel a lot more confident going into that”.

Taking competitions out of the equation Jessica adds that the surgery has also increased her overall body confidence as she feels a lot more confident in the clothes she wears.

“All of my clothes fit better because I obviously had this whole chest area completely missing, so everything just fits a lot better. I’m really glad I did it because I do feel a lot more confident”.

Why Choose Cosmetic Surgery

Discussing why women opt for breast surgery, Jessica says that for some people, confidence plays a big part in their decision.

Jessica_Kavanagh_Post Surgery

Post-Surgery Selfie

“I think people think that you’re into yourself and big headed to have plastic surgery, but for the most part it’s because you’re self-conscious and you want to feel better about yourself.

“It’s just like putting on your make-up, you do it because it makes you feel better about yourself. I don’t see the problem in anyone having any kind of plastic surgery, whether it’s on their face or boobs, if it makes them feel better about themselves”.

One Piece of Advice

Since her breast augmentation Jessica has received lots questions from women interested in the surgery, whether at the gym or on Instagram, she’s constantly inundated with messages. Her one piece of advice however is to book a consultation.

“If you’re unsure, just go in and have a consultation, because when you go in, you’re trying on different sizes underneath your top and you’re getting a better idea of how it might feel. If it feels wrong you’re going to know in the consultation”.

We are delighted to introduce Roberta von Meding, a 32 year old proud mother of two daughters and the editor of the excellent Mums & Tots Magazine, Ireland’s favourite maternity magazine.

Having had pre-eclampsia during both pregnancies which resulted in swelling, oedema and severe diastasis recti (where the stomach muscles separate postpartum), Roberta has developed neck and back strains when exercising making physical activities difficult for her.

Roberta would love to be able to do a Yoga or Pilates class but due to her condition it is simply not possible. Additionally, Roberta has recently started developing hernias in her abdomen. As a result, Roberta has decided to have abdominoplasty (also known as a “tummy tuck”) and muscle repair surgery with The Avoca Clinic. We are delighted to share her first video blog documenting her journey.

In her second video diary, Roberta explains why she chose The Avoca Clinic for her Abdominoplasty and muscle repair surgery. She explains how she researched a variety of clinics throughout Ireland and whilst many seemed reputable, she discovered that there are often surgeons in those clinics who are not members of the Irish Plastic Surgeons Association whereas all of The Avoca Clinic’s surgeons are members.

“It almost felt like being in a beauty spa”

When she visited The Avoca Clinic for her first consultation, Roberta was naturally a bit nervous but tells us that she was instantly made to feel welcome and put at ease by members of The Avoca Clinic team. She also commended the Clinic on it’s decor and cleanliness.

“I didn’t feel rushed at all”

For her first consultation, Roberta met her surgeon who listened to all of her concerns and after having a look at her tummy, explained how she was a perfect candidate for a Tummy Tuck, assuring Roberta that he could sew up the hernias giving her a full muscle repair.

After her first consultation which lasted around half an hour, Roberta explains how she was given a two week cooling off period with which to digest all the information and to decide whether to go ahead with the procedure or not.

After the two weeks had passed, Roberta returned to the clinic with a list of questions for her surgeon who was happy to go through all of her questions and concerns. She was also shown several before and after pictures of precious patients and said that she “didn’t feel rushed at all”. After her second consultation Roberta decided that she was happy to go ahead with the procedure.

Roberta explains the importance of preparation to her and how she felt The Avoca Clinic team made her feel completely informed and prepared for her procedure as well as showing her exactly what kind of binder she would be given to wear. Additionally, she shows us a selection of pillows that she has bought online for the recuperation period after her surgery.

In her latest video blog, filmed three days after her surgery at The Avoca Clinic last Monday, Roberta of Mums & Tots magazine describes how she’s progressing post-op.

Video Transcript:

Hi everyone and welcome to my fifth video blog for the Avoca Clinic. So today I’m 3 days post op and the operation was on Monday and it’s now Thursday. As you can hear I still have a bit of chestyness after the anesthetic so its taking a couple of days to clear so i sound a bit weird! Other things, I’m kind of a bit hunched over, that’s to be expected for the first couple of days, because they’ve made everything tight on the muscles here. I also have two drains, one on each side, they don’t hurt they’re just a bit annoying and they need to be drained ever morning.

Otherwise I’m feeling pretty good. i slept really well last night but yesterday night was pretty rough. I had Tylex which is like a strong paracetamol codeine mix and gave me very strange dreams and yeah i didn’t sleep very well at all so last night I actually moved to the couch and slept much better – had a great sleep and woke up feeling a good bit better than yesterday.

“I can already see how different it all looks”

The raw pain level is about 3 or 4 and I’m coming off the Tylex strong medicine today which I’m looking forward to because it’s making my head go crazy! So really excited to see the results, I can already see how different it all looks. They’ve also prepared the 2 or 3 hernias that I’ve had and brought the muscles together as well as tucking the skin. Really really pleased and looking forward to getting these drains out in a few days and hopefully my voice will be back to normal again soon, talk to you soon!

For her sixth video blog we rejoin Roberta six days after her muscle repair / abdominoplasty surgery at The Avoca Clinic. She tells us how she’s got her voice back and had her first drain removed at the clinic. She’s still somewhat hunched over and in some pain but is gradually feeling better with time.

She details the process of having the first drain removed as well as having her dressing done at the Avoca Clinic which was her first time actually seeing the scar post operation. She explains how the surgeons are pleased with how it’s healing and that she will need to take it easy for another week. Roberta will be back in two days time when she’s had her second drain removed.

Watch the full video blog below.

Video Transcript

Hi everyone and welcome to my sixth blog for The Avoca Clinic. So I’m now six days post-op and I’ve got my voice back which is nice – not sure my husband is very happy about that as I’ve spent the last week on the couch barking orders at everyone! But no really it’s so important to have family help having major surgery like this and I’ve had so much support from family and friends taking the two girls out – it’s really been wonderful!

“I’ve had so much support from family and friends”

Six days in now I’m feeling good, still quite sore, still walking very hunched over, still haven’t been able to have a shower this is why my hair looks like this! So it will probably be in another two days time when I get the remaining drain out.

So how did it feel to get the drain out? It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I was very nervous about it which is ridiculous as I’ve had full abdominal surgery but I was very nervous about it. The nurse lay me down and told me to relax relax relax! She removed the one from the right side. It was like a gentle tugging feeling, kind of had to go somewhere else in my head because of what was happening but it wasn’t actually that sore, it was manageable. So they just dressed it and left the other one in. I’m not particularly looking forward to having the other one removed but at the same time I’m glad they left it in because the next morning I had about 50mL in the drain which is quite a lot so that fluid would be just settling in my stomach instead of in the drain and if that had happened they would have had to remove it manually whatever that means! Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t need to worry about that.

“It was my first time seeing the scar on my stomach and I’m so pleased”

So today I went into The Avoca Clinic and had my dressing done and it was my first time seeing the scar on my stomach and I’m so pleased – very very happy! It didn’t hurt getting the bandages off or anything, it was a similar feeling to a C-section, there’s numbness but there’s not a whole lot of sensation – so that was good. The surgeon is really happy and really pleased with how everything is healing and just told me to take it easy for a week and I’ll be back in two days to get the remaining drain out and possibly get more dressing on the wound as well.

So I think that’s all and I’ll talk to you again in two days time – thanks!

For her seventh video blog we rejoin Roberta ten days after her muscle repair / abdominoplasty surgery at The Avoca Clinic. Roberta has had her second drain removed and she updates on how she is progressing in her recovery.

Video Transcript

Hi everyone and welcome to my seventh blog for The Avoca Clinic. So today I am ten days post-op, feeling a lot more like myself because I got my second drain removed yesterday. So I went into the clinic and the nurse saw me very quickly, I was probably only waiting in the waiting room five minutes, and she brought me in and I lay down on the bed, an it was over before I knew it.

“it’s always been very reassuring and I just feel very confident in their care”

I’d be lying if I said it was a walk in the park, it was pretty sore second time round, but once it was done it was done. Like an injection, a little bit sore but fine. The nurse was just so nice and friendly, also professional but you know, she was telling me how good the results were and if I needed anything just to give them a call. So, very reassuring every time I’ve gone to the clinic for my follow up appointments, it’s always been very reassuring and I just feel very confident in their care. It’s great that it’s only just up the road from me as well.

In terms of sleep I’m still sleeping upright on the couch, still not in my bed so I look forward to being able to lie flat but for the moment I still have my triangle wedge pillow that I think I showed you in the first or second blog. That’s been really useful so I definitely encourage you to have a look at different pillow options for sleeping upright. Actually the leg pillow which I got as well which is a kind of memory foam pillow – I’ve been using every night as well. I found that with two normal pillows on top of each other it wasn’t giving my legs the support they needed and it meant that my stomach was kind of taking it.

“It feels great to have that support over the wound”

I’m walking a lot less hunched over today and yesterday. I also have a binder on except for at night time which is on the tightest one at the moment. So it actually feels great to have that support over the wound. I was also able to have a shower this morning after getting the drains removed yesterday so it feels amazing to have washed my hair and the dressing that they left me with yesterday is waterproof as well. It’s a special bandage called Opsite so it’s going all the way across the wound, my belly button and the draining sites as well so it meant I was able to hop in the shower and it didn’t matter if any of that got wet because I was able to dab it off with the towel and it’s still totally dry. The clinic were really good, they gave me spare bandages just in case any of it lifts up so that I can re-apply it myself and I was shown how to do that so that was very comforting.

I’m still not able to lift anything or do housework which is fine – I’m having lots of help this week so I’m just taking it easy, lots of couch time, lots of telly, lots of books. I’ll be going back to The Avoca Clinic in a week to meet with the surgeon again just to let him see how everything has heeled and to advise me what the next steps are in terms of my recovery. I would imagine I’ll keep wearing my compression stockings which are not that great considering it’s very hot out today with the mini heatwave for the leaving cert coming up! I’ll probably be told to keep the binder on for a few weeks as well.

So thanks for tuning in, if you have any questions please let me know and I’ll talk to you in a couple of days time. Thanks for watching – bye!

“Feeling much more like myself every day”

Just over three weeks on from her muscle repair and abdominoplasty surgery at The Avoca Clinic we rejoin Roberta for an update on her recovery.

Video Transcript

Hi everyone and welcome to my eighth blog for The Avoca Clinic. So I’m three weeks and two days post op now. Feeling much more like myself everyday. It’s been a very long two weeks on the couch, but I was finally able to sleep in my old bed about four nights ago now.

I still have my leg pillow for my feet just to take the pressure off my tummy and I’m still sleeping on my back because when I lie on my sides the sides of my scar are quite tender.

“I feel like I’m getting back to parenting”

So I started driving from about four days ago. The Clinic said I could start driving one week post op but to really wait until I felt comfortable so for me that was just a couple of days ago and I’m not driving long distances – probably maybe about 15 km is the most I’ve done and it feels fine but I don’t wanna push myself harder. It’s nice though to be able to do the school runs again in the morning and I feel like I’m getting back to parenting and house life.

At home, I’m not doing a huge amount still, I’m sort of hovering around doing little household chores, so maybe hanging up laundry, putting some dishes away but I’m definitely not hoovering or doing any heavy lifting. So I just need to make sure even though I’m feeling like I might be able to take on more I need to remember that my insides are still heeling, Its not just the scar on my abdomen – there is muscle repair so I do need to take it easy. In terms of my energy levels I’m feeling quite tired particularly in the late afternoon and evening but i was told to expect this so its not really a huge surprise. As I said even though the main scar is healing I need to remember there are layers inside, so I do need to remember to take it easy. So I probably need to lay off any massive exercise until another three weeks until I’m six weeks post op.

So at the moment I’m just trying to take things as easy as I can – put my feet up when i can. I’d manage a small walk around the shop, pick up a couple of groceries but I’m not pushing things beyond that. I also notice that if I’m walking around a lot during the day that I’ll have swelling during the evening which is to be expected and it will subside but it’s a bit uncomfortable so I’m wearing my binder all the time to help with that. So for scar treatment I’m using a kind of vitamin E bio oil blend to help with the scar tissue healing and I’m also using 345 cream to moisturize the scar so it’s softening really well which is great.

Yesterday I went up to the Avoca Clinic for my three weeks follow up with my surgeon and he’s really happy with how everything has healed and just recommended I keep wearing my binder and keep wearing the compression stockings for another week. He also said that the main scar, even though it doesn’t look very red now it could start to look red in the coming weeks and months so I need to expect that and it was really useful to know as i feel like i may have freaked out a bit if I had suddenly seen it going red.

“Looking forward to planning a proper shopping trip”

So overall he was really happy with how everything is healing and I’m to come back again in three months time so yeah I’m doing really well. Looking forward to planning a proper shopping trip to get some nice fitted dresses and bikinis for our summer holidays but I’m putting it off until I have more energy for the moment online shopping will have to do! Thank you so much for watching and ill tune in with you again in a coupe of weeks time!

In the first installment of her video diary series for The Avoca Clinic, Ciara explains why she decided to have Breast Augmentation surgery in the first place and why she chose our clinic.

Video Transcript

Hi guys I’m Ciara, I’m just popping on here to do my first video blog for why I chose Breast Augmentation and why I chose Avoca, why I chose it in general as well I suppose. So basically it was something I always wanted done it wasn’t a main concern or priority but it was something I always had an interest in and always planned on having done.

In the meantime I took up body fitness which led to me doing bikini competing. In this sport your body fat goes up and down so much that unfortunately your breasts are something you have to sacrifice. With the fat going up and down so much it gets worse and worse and in the end you’re left with nothing so I suppose breast augmentation was the only way forward because it just got to the point where for me I just wanted to have them done. I think it will really benefit me on stage, I think it will just finish off the package, give me that womanly feeling back again that I’m missing so that’s why I chose Breast Augmentation really.

“I like to do things in the extreme!”

In terms of going with Avoca, a few of the other girls had their breasts done and I have heard a lot of good things about them, about the clinic, staff, aftercare and the results in general so one day I just decided why not and I mailed them and told them what sport I was into, why I wanted to have it done and asked if I could make a consultation. So I went down and made one which I went to on Saturday. In the consultation we basically just discussed what kind of implants would suit my body, what size and why so we’ve chosen a high profile implant which is a rounded more curved one basically because my own breasts start so low that I need the roundness for the fullness on top which I was fine with because that’s kind of the look I was going for anyway. I kind of like that “out there” look if you will.

So I was really happy with that, the size we agreed that the surgeon suggested was 400 to 420cc so I’ve fone ahead and chosen 450 because I like to do things in the extreme! Because I had quite big breasts beforehand there’s skin to fill there as well so it will hold the quite large implants. So we went ahead and tried on a few implants, I tried on the 400, 420 and the 450 and I decided to go with the 450. So it went great, Kin brought me into the room and just showed me basically what it would look like, they have a scanner thing and showed me what it would look like when the implant was in and the profile just looked really well – really happy with it! So we’ve decided to go ahead with the 450cc so I’m really excited about it.

“Absolutely dying to see the outcome”

After meeting all the staff and my own surgeon as well I feel a lot better about it because it is quite a big operation to have and it’s quite nerve racking so going in I was quite nervous but I feel totally at ease  now and I’m looking forward to it so much more – absolutely dying to see the outcome I really am!

So I’m going to be doing a few video blogs in between basically the night before the operation and an hour or so after the operation and a couple of week aftercare as well. So I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted and if anybody is looking to have Breast Augmentation I definite recommend giving them a call even if it’s just for a consultation to get a feel of how it all works and a little bit more perspective on it. I’d definitely recommend Avoca Clinic just because they’ve made me feel so at east with the whole operation and I think I’ll be really well looked after after it as well. So I’ll let everybody know how I get on!

“I know exactly what’s happening and when it’s happening”

Here is Ciara Drea’s second video for the Avoca Clinic. Ciara explains how she is preparing two days before her Breast Augmentation surgery at The Avoca Clinic. She explains how she is delighted to have her operation early in the morning so as not to spend all day thinking about it beforehand. Ciara also tells us that she was told to bring slippers, a night dress, comfortable clothes in general to help with the post-operation recovery time in the Clinic.

The actual surgery itself will take only 50 minutes to an hour approximately but Ciara will stay with us in the clinic for 3-4 hours post-surgery which she says has calmed her nerves a lot. She describes the whole process so far as “really efficient” and that she knows “exactly what’s happening and when it’s happening”.

“I can’t believe how quick I’ve recovered!”

In Ciara Drea’s latest video blog for The Avoca Clinic following her Breast Augmentation surgery with 450cc implants, she updates us on how she is getting on two weeks after surgery. She has just had her stitches removed and whilst she says that is was one of the things she was dreading the most she found that in the end she didn’t feel a thing and was in and out in around ten minutes.

She lets us know that everything is going well and that she is now back in work after a week off. She says that she can’t believe how quickly she has recovered and that it feels like she has had her new breasts for months. She adds that the staff have been amazing, supportive and have answered any questions she had and have made the whole experience extremely straightforward for her.

Finally, Ciara tells us that she has her next follow up appointment on the 8th of August and hopes that she will get the go ahead to take her support bra off.
